As an AuDHD therapist offering Neurodivergent therapy, I understand being AuDHD can be exhausting and confusing. Routines can inform and create a sense of safety in an overwhelming world. But what happens if/when you get bored of them, or they come to a natural end? It can leave one feeling bereft, empty, confused with possible shut downs and/or meltdowns.
Seeking intimacy and connection with others, whilst facing the challenges of societies unwritten social rules, feeling misunderstood, or dealing with sensory overwhelm can compound isolation.
Executive Dysfunction, Task Paralysis, autistic inertia and demand avoidance can be ginormous barriers to get ‘simple’ tasks completed. Hyper focus can be really helpful in finally getting stuff done, but eating, drinking and other self care can fall away.
Clients in my practice are often trying to seek balance in meeting their needs. I offer a space to process, form understanding whilst being accepted fully for who you are.
Communication needs can leave AuDHDers feeling misunderstood, isolated and othered. Having conflicting needs, whilst living in an ableist society can leave one internalising that you are a ‘problem’ or ‘issue’. Well, I’m here to tell you you’re not. You most likely live in a society that isn't built with you in mind.
With me, you're in community. I hope this can help support you develop trust within our therapeutic relationship, enabling you to process as you need. You won’t have the burden of educating me. I’ll be there working hard to make you feel safe and understood.
Whether you’re self identifying or have a diagnosis, my door is open to you. You don't have to deal with life’s challenges alone. I will welcome you into my practice however you are. Stim, let out your stream of consciousness, speak freely - whatever you need to regulate and make sessions accessible to you.
